This statue is an icon of Saratoga Springs and has a place of honor in Congress Park.  It always no matter the day captures my interest.

However, the first day of January,2008 was a special day.  First night, the evening before was spectacular, but what made this first day special was that it snowed.

The snow put a fresh touch to everything and turned all of Congress Park into a fairyland. Normally the city workers would have cleared the walks, and salted the roadways. However, this first day was special and the new snow covered the city till nightfall.

This is an image looking at the snow covered Spirit of Life Statue in Congress Park.  The original watercolor is 13 X 20 inches unmated.
